In 1997 partners on the "BG Group" joint enterprise (32.5 percent) "Eni" (32.5 percent), "Chevron" (20 percent), "LUKOIL" (15 percent) and the Authority representing the interests of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan established company for the development of the Karachaganak field. Karachaganak field is one of the largest gas-condensate fields in the world. It is located in the northwest of Kazakhstan and occupies territory more than 280 square kilometers. Estimated initially reserves of hydrocarbons of the field amounted to 9 billion barrels of condensate and 48 billion cubic foot of gas, and the total estimated reserves exceed 2.4 billion barrels of condensate and 16 billion cubic foot of gas.

«Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg» LLC is the largest gas and chemical complex of the Russian Federation with a wide spectrum of objectives, which is based in 1968. The company is a part of "Gazprom" OJSC and a territorial complex of the Orenburg region. In the primary activity sphere of «Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg» is included: search and investigation of new oil and gas accumulations; production of gas, condensate, oil; processing of hydrocarbon materials; gas chemistry; rendering of services in processing of raw materials of outside suppliers; transport of gas, condensate, oil and products of their processing. Starting in January, 2007 "KazRosGas" company carries out processing of Karachaganak gas for the first time, at the enterprises of «Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg», according to the direct contract, which has been signed on December 12th, 2006 in Orenburg.
